Dr. Jovanna Canty Bio

I started my academic journey at the University of Florida, then transferred to Tuskegee University, where I ultimately earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work in general practice, emergency and critical care, and mobile in-home care. Each of these paths has taught me something unique, but I’ve always been especially drawn to internal medicine. I love the challenge of uncovering the “why” behind a pet’s symptoms and helping them feel better through thoughtful, thorough care.

For me, being a veterinarian is about more than just treating illnesses; it’s about building trust with families, creating a safe space for pets, and finding solutions that make sense for both the pet and their people. My goal is always to leave each visit knowing I’ve made a positive difference, no matter how big or small.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me painting, hiking, or spending time with family. I also share my home with my sweet cat Leo, who keeps life interesting with his intelligence and affection (and occasional mischievous streak).

It’s truly a privilege to be welcomed into your home and trusted with your pet’s care. I look forward to getting to know you, your family, and, of course, your four-legged loved ones.
